Prayer in the Episcopal Church
Prayer is responding to God, by thought and by deeds, with or without words.  Christian prayer is response to God the Father, through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Book of Common Prayer p. 856

Compline - The Night Prayer of the Church

This ancient prayer has existed in one form or another since the early centuries of the Church.  It is the last prayer prayed by the Christian Community as daylight faded into darkness.  Join us as we lift our heart in prayer at the close of the day, praying for a safe night and new hopes for tomorrow.
