What is a Vestry? The Vestry is the legal governing and decision making body of the parish. It is responsible to the members of the parish for the administration and governance of the parish and for the care and maintenance of our facilities. At the annual meeting in January, two or three new members are elected to serve a three-year term. Former vestry members who have been out of office for at least one year are eligible to run again for a position on the Vestry. The Vestry is charged with calling a Rector or asking the Bishop to appoint a priest-in-charge to serve the parish, preparing the budgets and expenditures, and with making policies and procedures for the good order of the parish. |
