Repairing the Breach: A Conversation about Racial Reconciliation

Watch this special presentation by Martha Wickett, one of our summer parishioners and a member of Repair the Breach NOLA, a New Orleans faith-based organization working to address racial injustice and the continuing racial wealth gap.

Martha introduces the work of Repair the Breach NOLA and explores the history and continuing effects of racial inequality, the meaning of reparative justice, and the role faith communities can play in truth-telling, reconciliation, and the work of repair.

Together we serve our neighbors with care.
On the last Sunday of each month, we gather laundry soap and other supplies for The Lord’s Kitchen’s laundry ministry — a tradition we call “Soap Sunday.” This simple act helps preserve dignity and meets a real need in our community.
Guided by Jesus’ call in Matthew 25 to care for “the least of these,” we tithe on our Sunday offerings, giving about $7,000 each year to local organizations. Over the past decade, this has allowed us to contribute nearly $90,000 to charities that serve our neighbors in need.
