Welcome to
St James Episcopal Church

All are welcome, and all means all.
Here, every story matters, and every soul has a home.
We’re a small church with a big heart, tucked into the beauty of Northern Lower Michigan.
Here, we believe what Jesus taught—that every single person is God’s beloved, without exception.
At St. James, you’ll find people striving, in imperfect but joyful ways, to live out Christ’s call: to love without limits, to seek peace and justice, to honor the dignity of every person, and to care for God’s creation.
Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or have walked this road for years, you are welcome here.
Take your time looking around, and when you’re ready,
come and see for yourself the warmth, friendship, and hope that fill our little parish.

LEARN WITH US
We explore faith with open hearts and minds.
Together we walk the way of love.

This Lent, join us for a weekly Zoom book study of Entering the Passion of Jesus: A Beginner’s Guide to Holy Week by Amy-Jill Levine.

Together, we will slow down and walk through Holy Week with intention—paying attention to the people, the tensions, and the questions that arise as Jesus moves toward the cross. This is an accessible, thoughtful study designed to deepen our Lenten journey and enrich our experience of Holy Week.
WHEN: Wednesdays during Lent at 6:45 PM
WHERE: Zoom from the comfort of home
Facilitated by: Fr. Lew Crusoe and Corey Cooper
All are welcome.

We are sorry, but the registration for this book study is closed.
SERVE WITH US
We share God's love in the community.
Together we serve our neighbors with care.

On the last Sunday of each month, we gather laundry soap and other supplies for The Lord’s Kitchen’s laundry ministry — a tradition we call “Soap Sunday.” This simple act helps preserve dignity and meets a real need in our community.
Guided by Jesus’ call in Matthew 25 to care for “the least of these,” we tithe on our Sunday offerings, giving about $7,000 each year to local organizations. Over the past decade, this has allowed us to contribute nearly $90,000 to charities that serve our neighbors in need.
